Challenge

CBC’s existing Edmonton News Studio needed a fresh, exciting new look to increase its audience share. This new brand identity, launched from the corporate broadcast center to the satellite news stations across Canada required a high degree of flexibility to meet the needs of local and regional news anchors and directors.

Creative Solution

The Alphaform Group worked closely with both the corporate office in Toronto and the local Edmonton studio to determine brand standards, functional requirements and future planning. To enhance different news segments, a modular graphic wall panel system was designed to incorporate a variety of different backdrops to modernize the anchor desk and to provide studio cameras with a variety of shooting angles. Alphaform designed and produced bold graphics with patterns, textures, and layers to provide on-camera impact and to enhance CBC brand recognition.
